High chance screening result
If you receive a high chance screening result following your screening for Down's Syndrome, Edwards' Syndrome and Patau's Syndrome, you will be contacted by the specialist midwives in the antenatal screening team. All appropriate investigations will be discussed with you specific to your situation. Click here for further information.
We will have discussed the options available to you, which include having:
- No further testing
- Non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT). A more accurate screening test, which tells you whether or not your baby is likely to have the condition.
- A diagnostic test, such as Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) / amniocentesis ("amnio). These are tests which give a definite "yes" or "no" answer.
Frimley Health have specialist fetal medicine consultants who work closely with specialist centres such as St George's Hospital, Evelina Children’s Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital.
