Have your blood pressure checked this summer
Nationally an estimated 4.7 million adults live with undiagnosed high BP, greatly increasing their risk of a devastating stroke or heart attack.
If you're aged 18 and over and live in Surrey Heath or Bracknell Forest, you can have your blood pressure checked this Know Your Numbers week for free between the 9th - 12th September at one of our pop up locations.
Qualified health professionals will be on hand to take readings for your blood pressure, pulse rate, pulse rhythm and can support with wider advice through checking your BMI and offering advice on how to quit smoking. Your readings will be sent to your GP surgery to carry out any necessary follow-up care if required.
“It used to be normal for our patients to die in their 60's and early 70's from heart attack and stroke as result of having High Blood Pressure. Good blood pressure control has been a big factor in why we can now expect to live longer. We can't control everything in our lives, but by making good lifestyle choices and checking our blood pressure we can make a big difference to our health." Dr Lisa Linksy
