Join in for Time to Talk Day 3 February
With one in four people affected by mental health problems, it’s more important than ever for us all to make 3rd February Time to Talk Day.
Dr Huw Thomas, Clinical Chair and Place-based Clinical Lead (Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead) for NHS Frimley Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “All too often people experiencing a mental health illness keep it to themselves and are worried about what other people might think of them. Feeling that you can’t talk about a problem only makes it more difficult to deal with.
“Time to Talk Day is a great opportunity to open up and talk about anything that is on your mind and to encourage your friends, relatives to do the same.
“Even if you don’t want to talk about your mental health, having a conversation with someone is good for your mental health so remember to take time to talk.
Dr Lalitha Iyer, GP and Executive Medical Director for NHS Frimley Clinical Commissioning Group said: “Conversations really do have the power to change lives, wherever they take place. It’s easy to think that there’s no right place to talk about mental health. But the more we talk about it, the better life is for all of us. Having these all-important conversations can make a huge difference to so many people.
“The more we talk, the more lives we can change.”
