Improvements Underway at King Edward VII Hospital
The ground floor of the main block and east wing at King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor are undergoing a programme of refurbishment and redevelopment.
This vital investment will modernise and create clinical space on the ground floor covering the main block and east wing, enabling expansion of services to better meet the needs of patients and the local community. The café facility will move to the front entrance.
The works are being carried out while the hospital remains fully operational. To ensure everyone's safety, temporary corridor closures will be instigated and as a result there are changes to how ground floor patient services are accessed.
During this time, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding.
From Monday 7th July, the following changes will be happening:
- Evolutio (Eye triage services) will be moving to their new accommodation in the main block ground floor
- BHFT Talking Therapies Service will be moving to their new accommodation in the main block ground floor
- The new Reception Desk will be functioning and;
- The Café will be handed back to NHS Property Services so that they can install equipment and get ready to re-open with a new menu in August.
Phase 3 of the Refurbishment Commences
The corridor from the main staircase to the reception corridor will be closed so that the next phase of works can commence, this means:
Access to the following services will be via an alternative route and a map can be seen at Reception;
- Audiology
- Maternity
- Evolutio
- BHFT Talking Therapies
If patients need any assistance finding their way to any of the services impacted by the works, please speak to the reception team on the front desk, who will be happy to help.
We appreciate the support of our patients, visitors and staff as we make these much-needed improvements. Together we are creating a brighter, more modern hospital environment for everyone.
Thank you for bearing with us as we work to create a better King Edward VII Hospital for the future.
