What's in your medicine cabinet?

A well-stocked medicine cabinet can make a huge difference to your life if you or someone at home is feeling poorly or has suffered a minor injury.

Having the right things at home for a range of eventualities can make the difference between speedy treatment and having to leave home to find a pharmacy.

Basics which can make a real difference to your quality of life can include:

  • painkillers and anti-inflammatory pills (i.e. paracetamol, ibuprofen)
  • antihistamine or other allergy medication (for hay fever, pet allergies, etc.)
  • plasters
  • bite and sting cream
  • thermometer
  • indigestion/heartburn tablets or liquid

Carry out regular checks on what you have, including expiry dates, so you have one less thing to worry about if you need to use any of the items.

Please read the labels of any medication you have, make sure it is appropriate for you to use and is stored in a safe place away, out of reach of children or anyone else who should not access it.
