We know that women from minority ethnic groups, refugees, asylum seekers and those whose first language is not English are at greater risk of poorer maternity and neonatal outcomes. We are working hard across the region to reduce these health inequalities, making birth safer and more personalised.

The South East Clinical Networks have developed a leaflet and translated it into 28 languages which has been developed to support conversations about induction of labour delays, why they may occur and how maternity staff work to keep birthing people safe during this time.

We are delighted to share these fantastic maternity resources created by South East Maternity Team, to support our Afghan families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the early days with their new baby in collaboration with Papillon Translation and Surrey Heartlands’ Local Maternity and Neonatal System
